{"id":876,"date":"2016-10-21T12:50:47","date_gmt":"2016-10-21T16:50:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/elkforest.com\/?page_id=876"},"modified":"2024-03-27T15:01:32","modified_gmt":"2024-03-27T19:01:32","slug":"new-home-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/elkforest.com\/","title":{"rendered":"The Community of Elk Forest, Maryland"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><strong>The community of Elk Forest is located in Cecil County, MD, on the peninsula between the Elk River and the Chesapeake &amp; Delaware Canal. The southwestern tip of the peninsula is called Welch Point and is property reserved by the Army Corps of Engineers for use for support of the C&amp;D canal. This peninsula is a wildlife management area and is controlled by the MD Department of Natural Resources.<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-family: arial,helvetica,sans-serif;\"><strong>The Elk Forest residential area begins roughly where the text &#8220;The land between&#8221; is written in the photo above and continues toward the bottom of the photo. Elk Forest has properties bordering on both the Elk River and the C&amp;D Canal. \u00a0There are over 100 homes in the community and most are year round residents.
